Allied Plastics Honoree at SPE 2018 Thermoforming Awards

Allied Plastics was honored with the Silver Award in the Cut Sheet/Heavy-Gauge Twin Sheet Category at the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) 2018 Thermoforming Conference. The winning Plastic Thermoformed product was a Bear-Resistant Lid for a Roll-Out Cart. The conference took place in Fort Worth, Texas, from September 24-26, 2018.

The Bear-Resistant Lid is Twin-sheet Thermoformed using.125”/.156” HMWPE to create a highly aesthetic, structurally rigid assembly for a 95-gallon garbage can cart. The tool is a 2-cavity water-cooled, cast over-sized, 100% machined aluminum mold with a chemically etched texture. The lid and cart have passed multiple certifications, including the Interagency Grizzly Bear Committee.

Allied Plastics won Silver in the Heavy Gauge Value Added Category at the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) 2016 Thermoforming Conference. The honored Plastic Thermoform manufactured product was a Case Assembly for a Marine Propeller. The conference took place in Schaumburg, Illinois, from September 26-28, 2016. Everyone at Allied Plastics is proud of this awards recognition of innovation and ingenuity from SPE who is highly respected in the Thermoforming industry.

Allied Plastics Honoree at SPE 2015 Thermoforming Awards

Allied Plastics (Twin Lakes, WI) garnered both the Heavy Gauge Thermoplastic Olefin (TPO) Gold Award and People’s Choice Award in the SPE Thermoforming Conference Parts Competition.

The mobile light tower enclosure uses TPO in varying color combinations, and has a starting thickness of 0.275 in. for the front and 0.325 in. for the rear. The depth of draw versus multiple potential undercut features needed to be addressed.

Allied Plastics is Kenosha County Business of the Year

Allied Plastics Inc. in Twin Lakes has more than doubled its employment since the beginning of 2011. It also saw 28.8 percent revenue growth from 2010 to 2011.

The custom thermoforming company is on track to hit between $27 million and $30 million in sales this year and now has 157 full-time and about 50 temporary employees, said Tim Neal, who co-owns the company with Steve Wieder.
